Ronna Nelsen For 10 years Ronna Nelsen worked in various sales, marketing and advertising positions. Most recently, she was responsible for the west coast distribution of the fastest growing microbrewery in the nation, Samuel Adams Beers by Boston Beer Co. At Boston Beer Co., Nelsen’s responsibilities included opening new markets, and establishing wholesalers within the markets of Southern California, Central California and Nevada for Samuel Adams beers. She interviewed and hired sales representatives for the brewery as well as trained Boston Beer Company employees, distributor sales representatives and management on an ongoing basis in both group settings and individually in the field. Instruction included effective sales techniques, the brewing process, shelf positioning, display execution, restaurant staff education, and point of sale placement. Nelsen formulated and implemented sales objectives annually, set distributor and brewery sales, display and merchandising goals monthly and supported them with sales incentives. She presented, sold, and maintained chain accounts at the corporate level both on and off premise. Nelsen conducted market surveys with sales and management to identify specific market opportunities as well as supported, approved and maintained advertising efforts on the West Coast for both radio and billboards. She implemented marketing efforts encompassing special events, promotions, concerts and festivals. In 2003, Nelsen and her business partner started It’s In The Bag, a gift bag marketing company. Utilizing her extensive expertise in product development, marketing, merchandising and advertising, she works to assist product companies market their products to new audiences through product placement in the gift bags at major events, awards shows, charity events, etc. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Business from San Diego State University in California. She resides in Rancho Palos Verdes, California with her husband and two children.
